Membership types in Rotary

Full Active Membership

As an active member of a club, you will pay Rotary, Rotary Great Britain & Ireland and club dues and be expected to attend regular meetings and become fully engaged in giving service to communities; both locally and abroad. You will be encouraged to suggest new project ideas and will also vote on club matters. As a Rotarian, you will be encouraged to wear a Rotary pin with pride, and will be welcome to attend any other Rotary club meeting around the world.

There will be an opportunity act in or Chair District committees etc

Honorary Membership

Honorary membership is used to recognise people who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service and embody Rotary ideals, or those considered friends of Rotary for their support of Rotary's causes. They are exempt from paying Rotary dues, have no vote in Rotary matters, are not eligible to hold any club office and are not included in a club's membership numbers.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership allows you to become acquainted with a Rotary Club ( including its members, its programmes & projects, and the expectations of club membership) before becoming an active member within a 12month maximum period of time. Its an opportunity to “try before you buy”.

Associate Members are not entitled to hold any club officer position but you will be encouraged to work with club committees and become involved in service projects.

Associate Members pay subscriptions to the club, but not to Rotary International and are not included in a club's membership numbers.

Corporate Membership

An organisation or company in a club’s area can become a member of the Rotary club, through an established membership approval process, and to appoint up to four designees as the individuals attending club meetings, serving on projects, voting on club matters, serving as club officers.

Many Corporate Members will pay for their designees in relation to subscriptions. Any designees will be registered with Rotary International and will be required to pay the annual Rotary Great Britain & Ireland (including Rotary International) subscription. Districts and clubs can decide to charge a fee other than the usual annual dues.
